Catching Up: Engagement

So I haven't been blogging on this as much as I should probably do. I really enjoy typing my thoughts out. I don't care if nobody reads it. At least I have a history of what i did.

Since the last time I blogged. I got engaged!!! March 6th was the official day we made the decision. I remember the night before we had talked about it on the phone. He was out of town because of work in Austin that week. We talked for at least an hour about where we were going in our relationship and somehow it ended up talking about going ring shopping that weekend. I called him on the morning of March 6th and made sure... "So, are we like, engaged?" I tried not to sound too over-excited, i didn't want to freak anyone out as I got on the train for work. He says, "yeah, I guess we kinda are." And thats when I told him to call one of my parents, you know, to make it really official to get my parents permission and all. He called my mom at work and got her blessing. Later on my dad called about the news and he was super excited! When I showed up to work, i bragged to 1 person, then 2... then talked to my boss, Kalie, about it, she yelled it across the whole floor, just to make sure everyone heard. I'm surprised she didn't send an email company-wide!

That weekend, we did go ring shopping. And with both of us on a tight budget, we went to the pawn shops! I remember it being incredibly frustrating because I have a size 10.5 ring size. And the silly "standard size" is 8. Boo! But after about 4 different pawn shops and getting almost laughed at when we went to Zales, we finally found a beautiful ring in our price range that ALMOST fit, it was really close. So we got it resized for just about the same price as we spent on the ring, which was ridiculous. But it was fine.
We are getting married February 14th, 2010.
